Finally, a perfectly executed week!! I got all of my strength sessions done plus an extra one because I was feeling it and far, far more importantly all three run training sessions. The Tuesday run was tough as I do that on the back of a more lower body focused, hard, heavy strength session so the pace was slow and cumbersome but I did it and the goal is to mostly push through when I don’t want too to try to replicate the end of a race. The Thursday run was an improvement over Tuesday as it came after a rest day and then only an upper body training workout. Those are my two short runs where I push pace more than distance and just try to last as long as possible at a faster than race pace, the Sunday run which was the high point for training this week is the race pace increasingly farther training run. I was really happy with this run as I stayed around my race pace (other than dealing with my dog saying hi to all the other dogs outside) and pushed the distance to a 2018 best which is very encouraging with only a few weeks to go until X Warrior Challenge. Nutrition has also been pretty good lately, sugar intake is down and while I would like to get my protein numbers higher, whey protein makes me feel awful so trying to mostly eat my protein is difficult.
I’m rounding in to form which is awesome with only a few more weeks of hard training before the taper, so the focus this week to keep up the good momentum and have another perfect week.
Workout song of the week is going to easily my favorite band. This song I listen to as I head out the door walking and stretching as the warm up for my run, as soon as it’s done it’s pedal down time.
