This last week was a mixed bag on one hand I did get some running done and the strength sessions are continuing to go well but on the other hand, I only got one run and it felt awful. Now that could be for a few reasons, the most obvious being I haven’t done enough running, it also came right after (maybe 5 minutes) I did my hardest lower body strength session of the week, it was also cold again!! I enjoy seasons and winter but I’m over the slippery, cold, uncomfortable training sessions. Having the kids home for spring break also made it hard as it meant I would’ve needed to do my midweek runs at night when it was even colder and also sacrifice sleep which led to burning out similar to last year so I’m not going down that rabbit hole this year, trying to be smarter than that.
The plan this week is to really amp up the mobility as I feel like that also led to my only run being slower as I felt like my leg joints were rock solid instead of loose and flexible. Hopefully that will have some benefit as we’re now only 5 weeks until the first race of the year, the stadium sprint.
