Just passed the halfway point in getting ready for the X Warrior Challenge Stadium Sprint and I feel like I’m getting closer to where I want my training to be but am still off a little bit. I had what has kind of become my usual week, a great week on the weights and not so good on the run sessions in that I did none. I did however have a 45-minute snow shoveling session in place of one of the runs and with the way I felt after that I think that I would count it as a cardio and strength workout so there was that. The other day I missed I was at the grocery store on discount day so having to squeeze through a crowd of people and throwing elbows like a NBA center grabbing a rebound felt like it wasn’t a complete loss just a small one. The strength workouts continue to be my bread and butter as the reps and weight continue to get higher but it’s feeling like the same amount of effort so that’s a good indicator of where I’m at right now. As good as those workouts have been I had just as good week working on mobility and can feel the winter rust shaking off the more I do it.
Nutrition has been mostly really good during this whole process this year, I have been sneaking in a few to many Dr. Peppers lately so the goal is to cut those out as they have been the only really trip up in my diet of late.
The goal this week with some warmer weather is to cut the excuses and get all 3 runs done at a pace and distance that is around where I should be if I hadn’t skipping too much lately.
