Day 23 was a Run/Hike day starting with 3-5 miles running then walking or hiking to add up to 90 minutes. Due family I had to break this one up to fit into my schedule but sometimes that what you have to do. I have noticed my shin splints are coming back so it made the run portion a little tougher than it should’ve been.
Day 24 – Pull-ups, jump and burpee day was pretty easy for the most part, you can tell the plan is starting to taper on the workout as you gear up for race day.
Day 25 – Yoga day is always interesting as someone who doesn’t practice yoga really, I probably should as after each race and on the yoga days I always feel so much better.
Day 26 – Sprints & Run. I’ve done the 10 thirty-second intervals sprints this morning now I still have 2-mile interval trail run tonight to get done.
Now on to the last of the workouts.
Day 27 – Run in the intervals starting with 1 mile easy, 2 miles “All Out” then 1 more mile at an easy pace
Day 28 – Last Recovery Day before race day.
Day 29 – 4 times you do a 4-minute sprint, with a 2-minute active recovery phase after each sprint
Day 30 – Race Day!! Now the challenge calls for 2 hours of Run/Hike with 4-6 miles of running to start than hiking the remainder, but I feel like between warming up, the run, and the cooldown that will take care of that.
That’s it that’s the end of challenge, the only thing left is to do the post challenge test. Check back for results on Monday. If you haven’t done so already download the 30 Day SGX Challenge here and try it out for yourself.
The X Run is now full but X Warrior has started a new run for January 1st called the X Resolution Run using the same format, a great way to start your year off, plus sign up for the 11:00 AM heat and you can come run with us.
